Biodome Raid : Saturday 17th August 2013

Our trophy case seems devoid of biodomes so lets rally for a biodome raid.


Date : Saturday 17th August 19:00 GMT ( was looking at july calnder hehe) ( Postponed again for preparation time ..no volunteers yet for key hunting


1) Ill set up a vote for whether we want to do omni or clan side

2) We need the following : Tanks ( 3 tanks minimum)
Docs ( 6 docs)
warping engis (2) alts will do if ur dding wholl stay outside and warp peeps in

30-9 = 21 DD and aux healers

Preference for DD/Healers : Advs /Mas/Agents/Mps ( High Priority if u have these toons get them)/ Nts( change damage type)


Sign up lets do this s***


3) We also need 220 volunteers to farm the keys dont want froobs gathering for farming keys it takes too long.

No reflects are allowed so Soldiers not too good here and no Engi auras either
No adds crats not good here

We need really well equipped tanks who can take hits of the order 8k and survive . Docs must have proper understanding of ch macro . For tanks please PM me you max Hp and armour too so we have an idea what we have to work with

If they haven't changed it a lot, there is no need to ban reflects. The bad stuff is all AoE attacks and nanos, including mongo. There are four passive turrets that must not be attacked.

The first problem is to tank the incoming damage, tank must have something like 15k hp and loads of melee reflects. In addition to that we need several docs with perfect CH sync. With top notch raid tank, this might be doable.

The second problem is DD since the mob will raise 1k reflect shield for damage types that have dealt more than certain amount of damage. The amount of damage that we need to deal within time limit is really high. Basically we can't afford to have any non-dps toons in. Also as many toons as possible need to be able to change damage type.

Alternatively we need to have soldiers with reflection ripping guns to drill through as much as we can.

Side effect of reflections is more problems for the tank - after the shield comes up for his damage type what can he do? Every hit gives like 1k reflection damage for himself and his damage will be reduced. If he tries to change weapons nobody can heal him during weapon changing. Best bet for tank could be to use radiation damage that can be drilled most by soldiers. We can't probably reserve one damage type only for the tank anyway.

Next problem is agro holding since there is no mongo. To add to the confusion there is constant agro wipes every 30s or so. So tank needs to be constantly spamming taunts and attacks to prevent agro flickers.

One idea thatthat I have thought about is to utilize the agro wipe and use three soldiers and TMS tanking. Soldiers keep their TMS uptimes in sync so that that soldier #2 starts TMS 40s after #1, and soldier #3 fires TMS and goes in when TMS of #1 is over. So each soldier has 40s of tanking, 40s of trying to get rid of agro and 80s of rest. Good luck keeping that up for whole raid though :D.

Something else that's gonna be an issue: this guy has a ton of nanoresist, I don't think I landed even 1/10 nukes the one time I tried him.

The reason our trophy case is empty of biodome is because it's too hard to even try. With a well oiled and large team of high level froobs... there might be a chance. At the moment we are few (afaik) and our raiding skills are rusty. I'm afraid this is a hopeless goal.

Very awesome that you are planning a raid though! I'm looking forward to see some action!

9@ Lutso

1) Honestly i think some mechanics have changed. I aggro ed the turrets by casting NS2 during the last raid a few days ago. I dont know if Soldiers TMS mechanics are any different from the Ns2.

2) Honestly we cant depend on DPS for the biodome boss because most of us will be missing most of the time / Or stopping attacks altogether to avoid the shield.


3) So its a question of trying to outlast the boss, which means we will need people who can dd and heal ( also rotate damage types) at the same time . i.e. Mas and advys.( well considering the timer on the shards we need the dd also ..and MAs should have decent hit rate i believe)

4) I think docs only be there for CH and topping out tanks

5) Honestly, we need to try this to know how much damage a well equipped froob enfo can withstand . After all the armor drops are froob endgame stuff

All froob biodome sounds interesting, Its still one of the few raids I've never done.

I recently changed my enfo setup for pure HP, I got to 14k self buffed (including mongo though), but there are a few things I can still improve.

I also have Agent and doc, so I can fill whatever roll needed really. Either way, should be fun to try :P

This should be interesting and I'll be there of course!

I can come on my enfo to help tank, as most of you likely know though I'm a health delta build and so I can only reach about 14kish selfed with mongo and a change of some equip (without any hassle).
So without mongo I'm only going to be around 11.5k selfed. I could re-imp I suppose if needed... but that might make me cry. Will at least try to grab some more hp equip.
That kind of seems to be similar to quite a few enfos about currently anyway, if there are a load of other enfos in a better state than me to tank then that's all good because I'm happy to push damage too 8) but tanking this would be totally epic!

As an FYI my ac's are average of 6k selfed so not too bad, damage shields with rage are about 180 on melee, I do energy damage but I can't really change my damage type very easily and remain particularly effective (melee energy build...).
I'm fairly happy with my ability to tank, including without mongo; my issues sometimes come from trying to pull :oops: (I'm always open to critique and appreciate feedback after raids etc so if anybody does have any from past experiences with me then please let me know, although maybe try to at least be slightly constructive!).

As I say I'm happy to just come as dd instead as I can push a reasonable amount of damage when not tanking.
Or I can just come on my advy so that I can easily change damage if preferred, or if we are lacking docs I can come on mine instead (this would likely be my least preferred choice but happy to do whatever is needed and I understand the CH macro).

Ranged dd would be very useful for this because they can hang by the walls and not get hit by the aoes, I have none unfortunately but will get off my arse with my advy to remedy this for in future.


I would like to just touch on the age old technique regarding biodome that I have heard multiple times in the past but have never previously come across anybody actually present at a biodome raid using this successfully.
I only mention this because recently I've stepped up my hunt for some kegerns pants again by offering silly money for them (seems to be that one item in game I always seem to miss out on), and I had a discussion literally 3 days ago with somebody who I don't know particularly well but does have some standing in the community, seems like a nice person and I have no reason to doubt what they say.
They said that they had been able to use this technique successfully but that it needed perfect timing and 5+ people.

Now, I'm not sure if this is considered an exploit or if it could be considered a mechanic of the mob, I do not want to discuss/encourage exploits, or engage in them so I'll not explain what I'm talking about except to say that it apparently negates the reflects coming up... which would obviously help!
I suspect quite a few people will know what I am talking about anyway (not complex) and so I thought it worth asking is it worth trying this technique?
Anybody have experience of this?
Is it in a grey area and so should not even be considered?
Is it negating the challenge and thus the spirit of the raid?

Just wanted to throw some food for thought in, the more I think about it the more I think it would feel like a dirty win if we were successful anyway, but I wanted to at least moot the idea.

I'm not even bothered whether we do clan or omni domes to be honest (even though it may be a chance to loot some pants) because I just enjoy the experiences and challenges raiding as froobs.
And for this reason alone everybody should sign up for this because whatever happens, it is going to be an experience!

Doctors used to be able to remove the reflection shield by using Epsilon Purge nano, but that was patched out. Paid crat used to be able to prevent the reflection shield by chain stunning, which was patched out as well. I think it is safe to say that any method that removes the reflection shield from the game can be considered as an exploit.

To give it a serious try we really need to enforcer to beef up by every means. Including Gauntlet buff, Towers, Scones. Heck we should raid HI just to get the enf buffed there. Gorgin04 said that sided enfo could be able to reach close to 20k hp with mongo, we are talking that kind of numbers.

And tanking is the smaller problem there. I think that that part can even be done. What I think is impossible for us is to get enough damage to kill it in time. So I would consider it epic victory to sustain that raid until that point. After that point it becomes just about pushing the DPS.

I am counting on two things when i suggest mutiple enforcer method

1) Periodic wipe of aggro ; that means enforcers should be able to switch tanking duties Run to the entrance cast mongo and come back to fight and take tanking duties from there

2) Counting on aux healers to keep the enfo topped up Hp so docs have to only CH out the heavy nukes. Honestly this is more about aux heals than main heals.


Another Strategy

This depends on how many docs we can manage to get . But it involves having as many docs as it takes to keep up a preemptive CH cycles on the froob enforcer.
Remaining would be ranged dps like Nts, soldiers and fixers.

So docs dont wait for the enfos hp to drop . They just CH and wait for their chance to recast it . Its the job of the remaining peeps on team to keep docs nano topped up.
