That issue is being addressed by today's patch.

Totally agree with this. It would be fantastic on MA's for TL3 where fist damage is a bit lacking... the TL4 requirement that may as well be the only requirement, as the skills needed are no problem by level 100.

Don't quite agree that the Iron Fist is "practically obsolete". If anything, I see it as a free damage boost for MAs. The hardest part of equipping the weapon is probably getting the weapon itself, and it will almost certainly boost your damage for the L100-180 gap range. Let's compare raw fist damage against Huzzum's Iron Fist to see when it starts to get obsolete:

Huzzum's Iron Fist
150 - 250 (150)

Raw Fist Damage at 700 MA skill
66 - 260 (331)

Raw Fist Damage at 1200 MA skill
113 - 470 (513)

Single wielding: 30hits/min
Dual wielding: 40hits/min

Assume 25% crit chance. Against target with 2500 ACs. Assume AR of 800.
Fists only gives 14670 damage / minute
Fists + Huzzum's Iron Fist gives 20155 damage / minute
(38% more damage with Iron Fist)

Now, assume 40% crit chance. Against target with 2500 ACs. Assume MA skill and AR of 1200.
Fists gives 34584 damage / minute
Fists + Huzzum's Iron Fist gives 38356 damage / minute
(10% more damage with Iron Fist)

As you can see, there is still a damage increase even with stats close to the endgame level. The only way that fists can outdamage Fists + Huzzum's Iron Fist would be if your MA skill was extremely high (I estimate about 1400+), or if your crit chance is extremely high (about >50%). The way I see it, Huzzum's Iron Fist works as a good offensive weapon to amplify your damage. Compare that to other combined-MA weapons that tend to boost your evades (like parry sticks). Those work to make your setup more defensive instead.

Does anyone know the equip time for Huzzum's Iron Fist btw? The only downside I see to it is that it cripples the bow hotswap for MAs.

Thanks for those numbers, that's very interesting. I'm going to give it another try now on my MA. I stopped using it earlier because it felt like less damage, but I'll try do a test in game to measure it.
Another interesting little detail is the 99% defence check. It's not a big difference compared to 100%, but against Ris Lee it might be noticable :)

Equip delay is 2 seconds btw. You can see this on aoitems by checking the verbose checkbox.

Very pertinent points Brian, thank you for the numbers on that. :notworthy:

I still stand by the TL4 req being misguided, with the rest of the requirements being TL3 spec *rant ranty rant I wants it etc etc soforth* :laughing1:

Met Saavick in TOTW testing his Sold setup. Very impressive and Saavick helped me with lots of information, really appreciate the time Saavick took out to get me updated. :)
