I've made the first update for the map :) You can download it here: Version 1.1.
The link and installation instructions in the first post have also been updated.

The following things have been changed:
  • Improved accuracy of character tracking in several zones.
  • Improved accuracy of borders between several zones.
  • Improved accuracy of Escaped Prisoner markers.
  • Improved accuracy of Cyborg Techwrecker marker.
  • Improved accuracy of Primary Computer Terminal marker.
  • Added a missing spawn location for Joe Two-Fingers.
  • Added the Juggernauts in Lush Fields.
  • Added a missing dynaboss in Arete.
  • Added maps for the following indoor area's:
    • Condemned Subway
    • Temple of Three Winds
    • Steps of Madness
    • Foreman's Office
    • Crypt of Home
    • Smugglers Den
    • Camelot Castle
    • Inner Sanctum

Gratz, this new update is a must have ! Can't wait to have APF added, will make it the best RK ever done ;)

2015 was a great year for AO fans : many content added & both RK/SL maps updates !

I'm quite happy to see a new map, thank you for putting in the effort to make this.

Only thing I miss on it are the land control areas, I personally find it really annoying to not be able to see their full shape and range. Would it be possible to add them in at least another layer if you find they clutter up the main map view too much?

Glad you like the map :)

Personally I prefer not having LCA boundaries on the map on either the 3rd or 4th layer to keep it looking nice and clean, but if many people feel this is an important feature, I might add it in a later update. Probably as a separate download. I'll let this depend on further feedback :)

Maybe just a tiny dot and optionally a little number to indicate there is a LCA there. The boundaries are nice up close, but zoomed out, sometimes its useful to know you're about to wander through a LCA, either to avoid it (to avoid unintentional tower ganking) or to head for it (like to find leets or pumpkinheads or something).

But, yes, your map is currently much tidier and easier to look at than maps with LCA all over the place.

Hmm...looks really good but doesn't seem to work for me :( I get an error message: "Error loading file: .../PlanetMap/saavicksmap.txt"

Did you put it in the right directory?

It should be in:

<your AO install directory>\cd_image\textures\PlanetMap\SaavicksMap

I have the same error, but I haven't yet to go back and see what it could be, should be a simple fix for me, just been too lazy to look

ETA: yes it was a easy fix, I saw it when I first installed, that the contents were not in a folder like the other maps, but I ignored that fact, so they were just loose in PlantMap folder, so I created a "SaavicksMap" folder and placed inside there, and all is good.
Like I mentioned earlier, should be a simple fix, which was just create a new folder.
At least that's what fixed it for me

Yes, I noticed it didn't make a folder, so created a new one for it, and still got the error message.

However, I see my own mistake now! I had named the folder "Saavicks", instead of "SaavicksMap", doh ! :oops:
Renamed folder and it now works like a charm :)

Aye, classical issue : AO maps path ain't dynamic, it's "hardcoded" within the config files - hence it's better to compress the full folder correctly named within archives (rar, zip). Therefore if renamed it doesn't work anymore ...

May be you could add a tutorial explaining all that within your readme, Saavick ? If you need a pattern, did so within the readme of SL map so people don't do this mistake too much (as i did it sometimes myself :) haha).
