About the % bonus on special market shops (trader shops)

Post by stodge » Tue May 27, 2014 1:26 pm

Edit: After patch 18.7 seems as FC has been toying with shops prices, so it may turn most of the info (or all) gathered in this post is no more accurate. What has been already verified is that selling stuff at Miir's Will no more Grant a better Return compared to regular shops. About the auno.org link formulae i've not clue at the moment.

Hi all \0

Last week i was a bit bored of the usual grinding in live server so decided to pay a visit to test server; it turned out that i've played a bit with the trader shop (special market); i was wondering how much is the exact % of increased prices return, compared to "normal" shops, when you sell items to trader shop and how my Computer Literacy (CL) influences again the prices.

For getting the answer i've followed this easy path of action:
i've compared the sell prices you get by selling a QL 100 O.E.T. Co. Jess to Miir's shop vs Trader Shop, varying the CL of my character, in steps, starting at 100 up till 1080.
What follows are the results i got:

Code: Select all

-CL--Miir's--Tshop--%Bonus---CL--Miir's--Tshop--%Bonus---CL---Miir's--Tshop--%Bonus--
#100: 7954 : 9280 : 16.67 | #400: 8578 : 10007 : 16.67 | #760: 9280 : 10826 : 16.67 |
#120: 8032 : 9371 : 16.67 | #440: 8656 : 10098 : 16.67 | #800: 9358 : 10917 : 16.67 |
#160: 8110 : 9462 : 16.67 | #480: 8734 : 10189 : 16.67 | #840: 9436 : 11008 : 16.67 |
#200: 8188 : 9553 : 16.67 | #520: 8812 : 10280 : 16.67 | #880: 9514 : 11099 : 16.67 |
#220: 8188 : 9553 : 16.67 | #560: 8890 : 10371 : 16.67 | #920: 9592 : 11190 : 16.67 |
#240: 8266 : 9644 : 16.67 | #600: 8968 : 10462 : 16.67 | #960: 9670 : 11281 : 16.67 |
#280: 8344 : 9735 : 16.67 | #640: 9046 : 10553 : 16.67 | 1000: 9748 : 11372 : 16.67 |
#320: 8422 : 9825 : 16.67 | #680: 9124 : 10644 : 16.67 | 1040: 9826 : 11463 : 16.67 |
#360: 8500 : 9916 : 16.67 | #720: 9202 : 10735 : 16.67 | 1080: 9903 : 11554 : 16.67 |
The CL, Miir's, Tshop columns shows the Computer Literacy used when trading at machines, the sell value for the item at Miir's and the sell value at Trader Shop, respectively; the %bonus is the percentual increment you obtain from Miir's prices when you sell at Trader Shop; once you have fixed a CL, it is calculated as:

Code: Select all

%bonus= [(Tshop-Miir's)/Miir's]*100
so, for the 160 CL step, say, it would be :

Code: Select all

%bonus= [(9462-8110)/8110]*100
About "how CL influences the prices" it appears from the numbers that the increment in credits gained at the machines it's not linear with CL, but, you only got a fixed increment in the price, in steps of 40 allocated CL points ... so, to be more explicative, at CL 159 the credits you would gain for the item once sold at the machines would remain the same as what you got with CL 120; once you add +1 CL and reach the "breakpoint" of 160 CL you immediatly get the increment. This was a long time renown mechanic as yesterday, in game, Lucier (whom i thank again) suggested linking me to This 2003 auno.org Thread. So, my "discovery", if there is one at all, it's just to have explicitly shown some of the CL breakpoints in the table, and the %bonus at trader shops compared to Miir's (both of them are not explicilty stated in the auno.org link, which, as you may have guessed by now, i've been pointed to by Lusto just after my test session was finished and done... sadly! :laughing5: )

To end this thread, let me say that i'm quite sure someone else, in the past, has already done this kind of test, and, again quite surely, much better then i've done... so the point is... i've not been able to find anything here or AOU or official forums about this same matter :laughing5: and so decided to test it my own (as, compared to other gameplay mechanics this particular one seems quite easy to be tested :) ). Once i hit 1080 CL i was already bored to death and decided to quit "the test" (yes, i can hear you say:" There have been people collecting datas for weeks!!! you noob tester!!!" well... you are right :D ) , but, as results show, seems the trend is quite constant so would not be incredibly surprised if someone elses would continue with higher CL values and not discover substantial changes; lastly... i'm not pretending to have discovered nothing here: a well done test should have been done with different items type (armors, nano crystals etc etc etc); i'm just reporting what i've been able to find with a bit of efforth, in the hope it can be of some use/help for other mates. If some more skilled tester/player think this results are a complete mess and could cause more damage then benefits, i'm the first one to encourage and thank him/her/it for write it on a replay and i would be gratefull if he /she/it would point me toward the right place where to find correct informations.

Woops... Gargantuan wall of text... see you in game all \0

This is good work.

On the question of overall, "How much does CL increase shop prices?", it looks like a 25% increase when taking CL from zero to 1000.
(The table does not start and end exactly at 0 and 1000 CL, but the increase in prices match what I observed in-game.)
