Improved Piercing Weapons is a QL 20 Instruction Disc that's worth quite a bit -- beyond that, I'd likely agree that you won't find anything worth the trouble of making into a nano

I've been reading, mostly because I'm very interested in the background of AO -- it seems great ! ... 'cept it's hard to find out anything :)

Style > Substance.

Solitus looks better with the whole monocle wearing, blood stained surgeon's cloak, knife wielding manaical doctor thing going on.

I fear playing a Fixer has affected me greatly *laughs*

I think that depends on how you want to play your doctor -- Mine is Solitus, but I spend a lot of time stabbing people. I play a combat doc using a lot of tips from Hahnsoo's piercing doctor guide. As with most professions, Breed is only a small part of the math compared to implants and gear.

I seem to get a lot more use out of snares than roots most of the time, but some of the things you can do that are nifty :: Breaking line of sight by snaring or rooting and running around a corner. Very handy if you've got active heal over time nanos on you. Stopping melee mobs as was mentioned earl...

Implant Layout Suggestions

I'm in the process of starting a new bureaucrat, and after hunting around a bit I haven't been able to find any good solid discussions on implant design for them. I'd like to hear from other crats, how do you play and what do you tend to implant as a result?

A Bureaucrat is actually my next project, mostly because it seems like a lot of juggling and paying attention. I kind of felt that I needed to learn more about the game before I attempted to play one -- managing just one character seemed easier than three pets and yourself, plus crowd control duties.

Something that worked for me was only raising 3 base abilities and ignoring my nanoskills. Every level for my opifex fixer was agi / sense / int (for nano skill trickle), SMG, Burst, Evades and Treatment. After I got a pile of IP built up, I'd reset my implants and boost nano skills to use new progr...

To access the Fixer Grid requires that you complete a quest for a special nano crystal -- there's a guide here on AOFroobs at http://www.aofroobs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10 . When you have the crystal, it's just a matter of casting it to create a data receptacle and then using that item on any nor...

New Fixer on Rimor!

Hi everyone,

Started my adventures in AO recently as a Fixer following some very useful information I found here. (Thanks Tarradax!) I'm currently playing on RK2 and thought I might try here to see if I could find a froob friendly org and ask a few questions. Hope to see everyone in game soon!
